CHINESE MEDICINE
Chinese medicine has been developed and refined over the last 5,000 years. Encompassing a broad variety of modalities including acupuncture, medicinal herbs, massage, food therapy, and breathing exercises, Chinese medicine stimulates and balances the body’s own curative energies, allowing for the body’s innate wisdom to help facilitate healing and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Rather than seeing Chinese medicine as an “alternative” to western medical practices, we should see Chinese medicine as complimentary to more familiar western modalitiesa legitimate, integrative path to healing that involves mind, body, and soul and functions effectively in conjunction with western medicine. Kaiser Permanente, Stanford University Medical Center, and UCSF are among the growing number of institutions that have shifted their perspective and incorporated traditional Chinese medicine treatments into their medical practices.
Paz has spent the last fourteen years pursuing her passion for Chinese medicine and has been practicing natural healing since 1985.
