ACUPUNCTURE

Acupuncture works, but explaining how and why it works is often done through two unique Eastern & Western perspectives. The Chinese have beautiful explanations and theories, but these are different than Western descriptions. The Western medical community uses five explanations for the effectiveness of acupuncture, based on scientific studies measuring biomedical changes in patients before and after acupuncture sessions:

Most notably, acupuncture is very effective in treating pain by stimulating the secretion of endorphins in the body, which are natural painkillers one thousand times stronger than morphine, or, according to many scientists, by generating competing stimuli that effectively interrupts other pain signals from reaching the brain.

Studies show that acupuncture raises levels of triglycerides, specific hormones, prostaglandins, white blood counts, gamma globulins, opsonins, and overall anti-body levels, all of which help to address immune deficiencies and other chronic and acute illnesses.

Acupuncture also stimulates neurotransmitter levels such as serotonin and noradrenalin, which explains why it is so effective in treating depression, fatigue and mood disorders. It also affects circulation by constricting and dilating blood vessels, thus stimulating blood flow and bringing a fresh supply of red and white blood cells into an area, which can cure edema and help heal injuries.

What is not in dispute is the effectiveness of acupuncture in treating a host of physical and mental conditions. In 1996, the FDA bestowed a Class Two status of medical tools on acupuncture needles, regulating the use and disposal of needles and, more important, indicating that acupuncture is a safe and effective medical treatment. The World Health Organization lists over forty conditions that acupuncture has proven effective in treating. Acupuncture can be used to facilitate healing, treat acute illnesses such as respiratory ailments, digestive and reproductive imbalances as well as provide significant relief from pain caused by work or auto accidents or chronic pain due to arthritis, muscle tension or strain, low back pain, headaches, carpal tunnel syndrome, and tension, pain and discomfort from prolonged computer use or other work machines

As a licensed practitioner of acupuncture for over a decade, Paz knows this treatment is a safe, comfortable, proven way to prevent, cure or correct disease, illness, as well as address general pain, stress, and anxiety from daily living. By inserting micro-fine needles into meridians, or points on the surface of the body that provide access to different physiological functions within the body, she controls and regulates the flow and balance of energy and function, stimulating the release of substances that promote healing in the body and helping to harmonize energy channels within the body while boosting the immune, cardiovascular, nervous, and respiratory systems.

Paz strongly recommends you experience this rich history and powerful medicine for yourself and is confident you will be amazed by its results. It has indeed been life changing for her and countless people who came into contact with it as practitioners and patients.
